Recommended Tools & Resources

Website Framework

These recommendations are the basic essentials I'd recommend to get your website up and running.

Website Platform

WordPress.ORG - Simple enough for beginners, robust enough for the high-level entrepreneur. Do it once & do it right with WordPress.org. Not to be confused with wordpress.com - you'll want .org so you can have a self-hosted site.

WordPress Theme

Beaver Builder Parent Theme* - A framework that’s lightweight, easy to use and grants you the freedom to build virtually any site you desire. No cookie-cutter, out-of-the-box styles here!

Beaver Builder Child Theme* - This is the co-partner to your parent theme which allows you to safely make updates without losing any customizations to your site.

Website Hosting

Siteground* - A long-time reliable host for your WordPress website. Superb support and even better performance keeping your site speedy. Plus their security is top-notch. They even have budget-friendly host plans that don’t compromise any of the must-haves for your site.

I’m currently on their GoGeek plan and recommend the same to clients.

Domain Manager

Siteground* - I’m a fan of keeping things simple and streamlined. Purchase your domain alongside your hosting and renewal time is a cinch. Siteground for the win here, too.

Choosing the right place to purchase your domain isn't really as important as choosing the right host (see above). The domain manager basically just gives you rights to own and use the chosen domain.

Plugins

Plugins are software installed on your WordPress website that can extend the functionality of your site. Most of the plugins listed below have both a free and paid version.

Backups

UpdraftPlus - An easy-to-use interface that allows you to backup and restore your site with a single click on a schedule that suits you.

Siteground - I’m listing Siteground again here since they offer a great backup service as a part of their hosting plans.

Cookie Consent

Cookie Consent - This is one of the simplest and most popular cookie notification plugins out there. Easily customizable + simple to install.

Page Builder

Beaver Builder Pro - A drag and drop page builder making it easy to quickly build professional pages + landing pages yourself.

Beaver Themer - A plugin that lets you create layouts for archive pages, template an entire post type, 404 and search pages, and create parts like headers and footers.

Power Pack - An add-on to the Beaver Builder plugin listed above, grants you more creative options with your website.

Ultimate Add-ons - Another add-on to the Beaver Builder plugin which grants you even more creative options with your website.

SEO

Yoast SEO - The SEO plugin everyone can use. It’s the simplest yet effective SEO solution that is available for WordPress.

Social Sharing Icons

Social Warfare - Add beautiful, easy-to-use social sharing icons to your site that gently invites visitors to share your content.

Spam Management

AntiSpam Bee - A simple plugin to install if you find yourself getting too much spam comments on your blog.

Marketing Tech Tools

There's more to marketing and technology than just your website. These tools might be helpful for managing your list, funnels, social media, etc.

Sales Page Builder

Beaver Builder Pro - A drag and drop page builder making it easy to quickly build professional pages + landing pages yourself.

This was also listed above but listed here again for creating sales pages, landing pages, squeeze pages, thank you pages, download pages + more.
